Ski Trax (in progress!)
Fall 2025
Easily accessible device to help locate friends or family while skiing

Problem
As someone who grew up skiing, I have always wanted a way to find my friends or family when I don't have cell service. It is also easy to lose young children skiing, who don't even have cell phones.
Solution
Three other students and I are designing the 'Ski Trax', a walkie-talkie sized device that points you in the direction of your friends, along with providing their relative altitude and distance! It requires no cell service, relying on LoRa technology to communicate between devices and GPS signal to determine location data. I was personally responsible for all case and harness design and integrating the electronics into the case. Scroll through the photos and informational flyer to learn more about its features!

Current UI on Device

Me on the slopes last year! Skiing is one of my favorite outdoor activities, but it doesn't come without its risks. I'm excited to create a product that will help my friends and family ski more safely!
